Sara H. Spencer, MS, CCC has been in private practice for over 20 years. She worked at
Letterman Army Medical Center for 12 years mainly handling pediatric cases, she has
published two therapy books, and has also worked as a supervisor and instructor at San
Francisco State University in the Communicative Disorders Department since 1992. She
specializes in language and learning disabilities for children ages 6 and up. Sara's energy
and enthusiasm keep her kids wanting to come back for more!
Shannon Kong, MS, CCC earned her BS degree in Developmental Psychology then her MS
degree in Communicative Disorders in 1996 and has been working in private practice ever
since. In addition, she has worked in several school districts in the Bay Area with the
preschool population as well as in classrooms designed for children with Autism. Shannon also
enjoyed working as a Clinic Supervisor at SFSU throughout 2003. She works almost
exclusively with preschoolers and children with Autistic Spectrum Disorder/PDD. Making
therapy fun is Shannon's specialty!
Robin Foley, MS, CCC joined our team in June 2004 and has been a priceless asset ever
since. With her Bachelor's in Psychology, Robin has been trained in the Slingerland Method as
well as Links to Language. She works with children ages 2 to 15. She specializes in working
with children with Autism as well as children with language and learning disorders of all ages.
Robin's smile and warm, fun way ensure that her patient's are always having fun!
Suzanne Jacques, MS, CCC joined our office in August 2005 after receiving her Bachelor's
degree in Psychology then her Master's degree in Communicative Disorders. Suzanne has also
been trained in the Lindamood-Bell method. She spent two years working with children ages 2
to 12 within the public school system. She now treats children from 2 on up with various
disorders including apraxia, Autism, and language and learning disorders. Suzanne's patients
can't wait to see her again and again each week!
Nadine Smith, MS, CCC joined Sara and Shannon in June 2005 after earning her Bachelor's
in Communication then her Master's degree in Communicative Disorders. She previously
worked in Oakland Unified School District and has brought endless amounts of energy to the
office. She has been trained in Lindamood-Bell's LIPs, V/V, and Seeing Stars programs. She
treats children ages 2 and up with a variety of disorders including apraxia, articulation, voice
disorders, as well as older children with language and learning disorders. Nadine is always full
of energy and has a very sweet way with the children.
Piera Miller, MS, CCC has recently joined our team after 2 years in Walnut Creek at the
well-known Speech Pathology Group. After earning her Bachelor's Degree in Linguistics, she
obtained her Master's Degree in March 2005. She works with preschool-age children, is a
certified Hanen therapist and enjoys integrating Stanley Greenspan's Floortime approach into
therapy. She also works with language impaired school-age children. Her clients are drawn to
her vibrant personality and sweet disposition!
Liz Lang, MA, CFY has just joined our team after interning for us during her final semester
at SJSU graduating with her Master's Degree in Communication Disorders. Liz has had an
extraordinary amount of experience working with children with special needs, particularly
those with Autism. She is skilled in the SCERTS Approach to therapy and worked as a
Speech Pathology clinical assistant for two years in San Jose. She has a special way with
children of all ages who just cannot wait to see her again and again each week,
Ben Barrett, MS, CFY has recently obtained his Master's Degree in Communicative
Disorders from SFSU after earning his Master's Degree in TESOL (Teaching English to
Speakers of Other Languages) in 1999. He has been teaching reading and writing at the City
College of SF for the past eight years specializing in preparing students to write academic
essays. He enjoys working with children of all ages as well as adults. His specialty is designing
fun and motivating therapy sessions.
